SMSD‑8.0LAN - programmable stepper motor controller
Programmable stepper motor controller with LAN communication
See detailed information on SMSD-8.0LAN at our main web-site
The SMSD 8.0LAN can be command-controlled via Ethernet TCP/IP, allowing it to be integrated into a local network for remote drive management. This controller offers five distinct control methods, including real-time command control, program mode, STEP/DIR, analog speed control, and analog position control.
Two versions of firmware are available for the controllers SMSD-8.0LAN – standard and Modbus TCP/IP. Modbus communication is provided for LAN connection. USB communication is the same as the base model.
The SMSD-8.0LAN ensures the smooth operation of stepper motors. It supports analog speed control, which can be achieved through an internal or external potentiometer or an analog voltage signal within the 0 to 5V range. Additionally, speed regulation using PWM signals is possible. When an external PWM signal is employed, the motor's speed is directly proportional to the effective voltage level applied to the SPEED input.
This controller offers operation in one of five primary control modes:
• Program Mode: This mode allows for autonomous operation based on one of the four user programs stored in memory.
• Direct Control Mode: Real-time command control.
• Analog Speed Control.
• Analog Positioning Control: This involves adjusting the angle.
• Pulse Position Control: This mode uses "STEP" signals and "DIRECTION."
Moreover, the controller is equipped with additional digital inputs and outputs, simplifying the connection to other electrical components within the system.
